Guidelines
  • Laptops are allocated to staff based upon organizational need and supervisor approval.
  • Think of it as your work computer, not your home computer, because it is your work computer. The same policies regarding computer and Internet usage that apply to desktop computers in a fixed office location also apply to laptops.
  • Laptops are for end-user and ministry use only. It is not to be loaned out without approval or used by family members for non-ministry purposes.
  • Staff members should NOT attempt to install software or hardware, or change the system configuration including network settings without prior consultation with Information Technology.
  • Staff members are expected to protect laptops from damage and theft. Staff members are monetarily responsible for hardware damage or software damage (as a result of installing software that is not work related). If theft occurs, immediately contact Information Technology and your supervisor.
  • Staff members will provide access to any laptop computer, equipment, and/or accessories they have been assigned upon request of their supervisor.
